Is this the drive piece that goes inside a Char-Lynn 4000 series motor, or is it something else entirely?

That's exactly what it is. SKU 0021372-003 is a spare part drive made specifically for the Danfoss/Eaton Char-Lynn 4000 Series. It's sold as a single unit and meant to replace the drive component within that motor family when it wears out or gets damaged.
