Does this seal kit work as a straight swap for the quad-ring setup on a 001 or 002 series motor?

That's what it's built for. The kit includes a low input torque seal that replaces the quad-ring used in the original -001 and -002 series configuration. Buna-N material throughout, and it carries the Eaton Char-Lynn part number 64470-000, so fitment on those series is confirmed.

For the 001/002 Series, this kit is the Buna-N seal kit that includes the low input torque seal, and that low torque seal is called out as the replacement for a Quad-Ring.
